7 Ways to Add Pruduction Value

In How To Get Better Showreels

So, let`s talk about production value. Adding production value will make the difference between an amateur looking (and sounding) showreel scene and a professional, cinematic production that looks and sounds that it is from a movie, or TV show. One of the main reasons why it is so obvious that a made from scratch showreel scene is just a made from scratch showreel scene, is because there is no production value in them what so ever.

Of course, it is difficult, because you do not want to waste your 2 minutes scene and 3-4 hours shooting time for expensive VFX shots, you are not going to film it at the top of the Eiffel Tower and it would be also quiet difficult to get Chris Hemsworth to be your scene partner. So adding production value to a showreel scene is very hard and is done in a very specific way that will require some extra effort from your end as well.

The good news is that if it is done right, the end result will be a way lot better than the big majority of made from scratch showreel scenes. Watch this video to learn how to do it.
